Here's the first of the line of trees, a Jonathan Apple planted in March 2004.  Under it are Sequoia Strawberry plants. I have since added 10 "Sweet Charlie" strawberries, too. My thinking is that it'll be a few years before the apple provides enough shade to give the strawberries trouble, and by then I'll need a new strawberry patch anyway.
