| Here we've turned the corner (standing in front of the blackberry
patch) and we're looking at the bit of pasture lane that runs alongside
the barbed wire fence between us and the Back 20. The blue "nodding
donkey" (oil pump jack) was built in the Back 20 a few years after we
arrived -- the trees at the neighbors' were just little 5 gallon potted
plants put in a year after we came here -- so they are about 14 years
old now. Along the right side, barbed-wire fence-line you can almost see
a line of trees -- an apple tied down, a snarl of black dripline waiting
to be used, a pear and a plum just before the pumpjack. There's another
pear beyond that, but it's just a stick and too hard to see here. |
