The two pale mounds in the center of the photo are Salvias (Sage) in the same blue as those closer to the front sidewalk -- the one on the right side still has bare branches left from last season -- I cut both back but left some behind so I'd still be able to find them come spring. In the foreground are a couple of markers for free Iris bulbs I got at the same time I got the free daffodils ("Beverly Sills" and "Blue Batik") which probably won't grow, but who knows. Paralleling the 1/2" dripline between the salvia and some pansies you can just see the tiny fanned lances of Western Blue Flag (Iris missouriensis) growing from seed bought from Plants of the Southwest (another two years before I'll see blooms there, I think).  Finally, at the upper left, another Wine Cup bought in person from PoTS.
