View from the sidewalk in front of our house; this gives a framework against which all the other photos might make sense. The shadow on the sidewalk comes from a huge fruitless mulberry. The stepping stones were last year's project (this year, we ought to sink them in place). The pot had a bougainvillea but it doesn't survive winters here. Following the rails around we have a newly planted North Star Dwarf Cherry Tree, various daffodils and narciissi, a skeletal Russian Sage (just in front of the piles of topsoil and manure with which I will soon refresh our lawn), a blue sage, daylilies, a dwarf fountain grass with a crew cut, surrounded by more daffodils (the darkest green patch), pansies are the bright yellow spots, two clouds of a hot pink sage; the end rails have way too much Mexican Evening Primrose coming up (planted two last year, it's taking over my garden this year), a couple of gauras just over the left shoulder of the white bench, another sage visible in the middle, the cloud of pink is actually a purple-red nandina, and just at the far right is the mesquite tree.
