Here I am standing in the middle of the pastures -- actually, in Wanda's.  The gate on the left is open, allowing Wanda to walk into Fancy's temporarily empty area, but she doesn't, probably because of that big alpha mare in the middle of the photo. That's my Hasty Act and she likes to be boss horse. At any rate, this gives a good view of the inside of the corrals, a complex of electric tape, cedar 4x4s and blue water barrels. The white object on the far left is a salt block. You can also see from here the wildest part of the lane surrounding the corrals -- as it passes by the back gate to our backyard's chain link fence it crosses the drainage field to our septic system and everything grows well there. I'd love to plant things that would love the drainage field but you don't want roots to get to happy in that area.  I'm planning to sheet mulch it and plant it to grass. The blue dots of reflectors help guide me when I pull the trailer so that I don't knock down the 4x4 posts. August 21, 2004.
